How do I design a character that matches the graphics of SB?

Post by Learner »

You remember the vid I showed you? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8e_Y6Y9 ... ure=relmfu

And remember how those old Jedi Knight Dark Forces II games had characters that matched the in-game graphics? I really want that. :P

I was going to go with Sculptoris to make a character - but it seems to make very advanced-looking characters that would feel out of place in my demo.

Is there a way to make a character from scratch in SB and just customize - or is there a site that allows you to make free models that match the graphics of SB?

It seems like Realm Crafter has stuff like this - but I like you guys better. :)

You should model and animate a model in another program and import it in sandbox
this should help you:

like rune said, you must animate models outside of Sandbox. As for matching the graphics, that's something that's kind of tricky. I'd say go with low-poly models that use bump and normal maps, like the RC does.
