This is amazing how much do you think this engine would cost before it went open source? and are you thinking of making a game with it?

I don't have the time or proper know-how.
And this is a very big commercial game ( once rated as the #3 mmorg game available ), but when the company went belly-up, the developers wanted to buy it like the blender foundation bought the blender code. The little donation graphic shows more than 200,000Euro have been donated to buy the code and assests from the liquidators. But much of that is probably being used to support development so that open source tools can be created ( blender in place of max, for instance ). Their pages are what I know....
